How to get from London city centre to Oriel College, Oxford

If you are travelling from London city centre, as opposed to the airports, we recommend that you get the train from Paddington station to Oxford. To avoid carrying your luggage on the Underground trains, you may prefer to get a taxi to Paddington. From Paddington you will need a direct train to Oxford – these leave approximately every 30 minutes. To ensure you get the correct train, please speak to someone at the railway station.

On arriving at Oxford railway station, the easiest way to get to Oriel College is by taxi.
By Bus
An alternative to the train is the bus from Victoria Coach Station in London to the High Street or Queen’s Lane (it is the same stop) in Oxford. These leave every 15 minutes and the journey takes approximately 1hr 40 minutes.

Oriel College is a 5 minute walk away from where you get off the bus. You need to continue up the High Street in the direction in which the bus was going. You will walk past a small lane called Logic Lane and past the Old Bank Hotel on your left. The next street you come to on your left is Oriel Street. Turn down this street and after about a minute you will come to the main entrance for Oriel College on your left.
IMPORTANT: If you would prefer not to walk at all, you will need to get off the bus at Gloucester Green Bus Station (this is the final stop). Taxi services are available from the square next to the station.
